Sam Winchester, formerly of Freak Camp

This is the tumblog of Sam Winchester, as written in the AU 'verse of Freak Camp (freac_camp.livejournal.com), and these are the things that remind him of why the real world is a good place worth fighting for.

Because Sam is a private person, and his authors respect that, Dean Winchester's face will not appear here.

Okay speaking of manatees I want to make a post about how important this episode of Reading Rainbow and the book it features were to me growing up

I guess I’ve always had a sincere interest in marine biology as a cursory glance through my blog will reveal and I think this is to thank for that

The episode got me so excited about manatees that within two days my mom had managed to locate a copy of the book for me at the library and I reread it every day until it was time to return it

It also seriously impacted my view on how the world of adults worked

It was very confusing to me that humans could create a world in which lovely creatures like manatees are constantly threatened and it took me a long time to sort of wrap my head around the fact that things weren’t as solid and well thought out as I had originally perceived in my consistent and relentless trust in anything anyone older than me said or did

That can be a very upsetting lesson to learn indeed and I don’t know that I’m going to be able to completely maintain my composure if and when my children (if I have any) figure it out for themselves
